Η μικρή μου πόλη στην ομίχλη χάνεται...
Στο δρόμο περπατάνε σκιές,
οι αλήτες στους τοίχους ψεκάζουν μπογιές
κι η ίδια μέρα επαναλαμβάνεται.

Μα πίσω απ΄τα μαύρα γυαλιά που φοράνε,
αστράφτουν τα μάτια. Aνέμελα νιάτα...
Μοιάζει ο δρόμος μακρύς κι ο κόσμος μεγάλος,
στιγμές ευτυχίας δίχως νόημα και βάρος.

Κι εμένα
μια βόλτα μου φτάνει
μέχρι το λιμάνι,
ν' ακούσω ξανά την κόρνα απ' τα πλοία.
Μια βόλτα μου φτάνει ως την παραλία,
διαμάντια να δω ν' αστράφτουν στα κύματα...
Tα μάτια να κλείσω στον ήλιο,
να χαθώ, να χαθώ, να χαθώ για λίγο
στα παράξενα σχήματα!

Η μικρή μου πόλη απ' τον χάρτη χάνεται...
Την εγκατάλειψη θα δεις.
Τη λύπη της να πιάσεις μπορείς,
μα τ' όνειρο ποτέ δεν πιάνεται...

Σ' αυτή την πόλη ζούνε φαντάσματα.
Στα μπαρ διαβάζουν τ' αθλητικά,
τσουγκράνε μπίρες ως τα χαράματα
στην υγειά των γιορτών που όλοι πίσω θα έρθουν ξανά.

μια βόλτα μου φτάνει

Background

Greece achieved independence from the Ottoman Empire in 1830. During the second half of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century, it gradually added neighboring islands and territories, most with Greek-speaking populations. In World War II, Greece was first invaded by Italy (1940) and subsequently occupied by Germany (1941-44); fighting endured in a protracted civil war between supporters of the king and other anti-Communists and Communist rebels. Following the latter's defeat in 1949, Greece joined NATO in 1952. In 1967, a group of military officers seized power, establishing a military dictatorship that suspended many political liberties and forced the king to flee the country. In 1974, democratic elections and a referendum created a parliamentary republic and abolished the monarchy. In 1981, Greece joined the EC (now the EU); it became the 12th member of the European Economic and Monetary Union in 2001. In 2010, the prospect of a Greek default on its euro-denominated debt created severe strains within the EMU and raised the question of whether a member country might voluntarily leave the common currency or be removed.

Background

For 715 years, from 1278 to 1993, Andorrans lived under a unique co-principality, ruled by French and Spanish leaders (from 1607 onward, the French chief of state and the Spanish bishop of Seu d'Urgell). In 1993, this feudal system was modified with the titular heads of state retained, but the government transformed into a parliamentary democracy. For decades Andorra enjoyed its status as a small refuge of fiscal and banking freedom and benefitted from Spanish and French tourists attracted to the country's duty-free shopping. The situation has changed in recent years as Andorra started to tax foreign investment and other sectors. Tourism accounts for over 80% of Andorra's gross domestic product.
